Autumn Colours

A few shots from around the Southern Highlands over the last week.

The first four shots are at Mittagong Junction and show the progressive yellowing of the poplars in the background over the last 7 days.

The last shot is at Bowral, and is certainly a striking contrast.

Not many days left of autumn colours.

Enjoy!

Old 46'6 Reefer

You don't see too many of these early 46'6 reefers still in circulation.  Macfield had quite a few of them and Rand also had a few in the early 2000s.

This one, QLCF 8034, is a Macfield lease unit, still with QR markings nad was on an SCT service heading to Brisbane.

Enjoy!

AMRM Container Article

G'day Everyone,

There is a great article in the April 2018 edition of Australian Model Railway Magazine, covering modern-era export containers (2000-present).  A must read for anyone modelling the privatisation/NRC era.

Part 2 (to be published at a future date) will cover Australian domestic containers.

Be sure to grab a copy of the mag.

Cheers

SSR Grain Train

A nice combo of C/49/C on the Allied Mills train heading south today through Mittagong.

Noosa Van Lines - Take 2

Another Noosa Van Lines box was sighted earlier this week.

This time, this one had a white roof and the large 'N' loco was also painted on the left hand side.  The logo would explain the large gap on the box photoed a few weeks ago.

Noosa Van Lines box PBXU 720033-5

The CDDU box photoed a few weeks ago, sans logo.
