PN Intermodals

Some intermodal shots from last Wednesday. These were from PS6 and MB4 services.

Haven't seen a Cahill 48ft box on rail for ages, and this train had two!  This one is CHLL 880003-5.

A nest of 4 Cronos CRTU flatraks.  These are 49P0 type which translates to 4=40ft length, 9=<4ft a="" ends.="" font="" height="" is="" p0="" platform="" without="">

A pair of Toll curtain siders on RQJW 60021.  The closes one is an overhaul and the back one is new.

Overhauled curtain sider 3NW815.  This container would date back to the 1990s and would have been a classic white and orange TNT curtain, probably with the Contrans text.  The container was built by Kruger.

Open top Hapag-Llyod HLXU 42U1 container.

With a freshly painted side sill, RQCY 987G carries a Keny container and a Toll SPD curtain sider in the original Toll livery.

Another open top container but in the form of a GOAU container loaded into Toll 5-pack RRXY 3.

A pair of Royal Wolf former removalist containers.  The orange one was a former Allied Pcikfords and the blue one was a Wridgeway.

A second hand container with a new Royal Wolf logo.  This is a 25G1 type.

VQCY 815 with a Sadleirs leased container from Western.  The container is a former SCFU Seacell box now marked as WPWU.

RQCY 1007A in original VR red/brown and with the tie rail down the side.

A Simon flatrack with a few empty ones nested below the loaded one.

Toll 48ft TDDS 486125, with a second marking on the end showing TDDU.  I suspect the TDDU may have been used to ship the container from China,

Enjoy!

Custom Curtain-Sider

Came across this interesting curtain-sider the other day on an Aurizon train.  It is a modified Florens 45G1 shipping container with a new white curtain fitted.  The very few buckles makes me think it is more for static storage.  I'm not sure if the other side was fitted with a curtain as well.

Enjoy!

Isotopes

For those of my generation, you probably associate the word 'isotopes' with the baseball team from the Simpsons, however I came across this interesting container the other day.

BSLU 925116-4 is marked as an isotope Lab for Marine National Facility and was on an Aurizon train from Melbourne, heading north.  From the look of both ends, it seemed to be kitted out with some fancy stuff.

BSLU is the code for Boxit containers.

Enjoy!

SCFU Numbering Oops

Came across this the other day.  SCFU 416239-9 in the new grey livery with a large SCF logo in to top left.

Seems there was a bit of an oops when they were fitting the decals in China.

The third photo is an early 416 series box with the code in the right place and the smaller SCF logo.

Enjoy!

PN Northern Grain

Managed to intercept this PN loaded grain train at Tarro the other day.  It has a very interesting consist of motley wagons.

A quin lash up with 8232 leading and DL50 as the fourth unit.

The only wagon in the consist built this century (well actually 1999 in China and delivered in 2000), XGAY 0006.

VHAF 530 still wearing the former Freight Austrlia livery.

VHAF 864 which was previously a VHHF.  It is now fitted with NSW bogies.

VHGF 264 with a decent graffiti patch out.

VHGF 223 with a well faded PN blue side.

VHHF 874 also with NSW bogies.

Former 1960s coal hopper, now NGIF 40015.

Former 1970s NGAX, now NGLF 30743.

Enjoy!

RKWY 2998

Spotted RKWY 2998 the other day on the back of PS6.

The significant repair of the side wall would make a great modelling project.

Enjoy!

Refurbished Toll Curtain-Sider 3NW912

Got this today on PS6.  Is is a freshly repainted and new curtain on container 3NW912.  The curtain is similar to the new build TINT curtain siders, but the logo is more central on the side.

The container would be around 20 years old.

Enjoy!

Lithgow Yard

A couple of interesting thing at Lithgow Yard this week.

Freshly painted 8231 waits to be picked up on a coal service.

A load of Airly coal bound for a power station on the central coast, led by triple CEYs.

Enjoy!

Horse Float on MB7

A pretty cool load on a Caru leasing SLZU flat rack.  This Nissan Patrol and horse float have come over from WA and was seen on MB7.

The train was headed up by a very clean LDP003 and 005.
Coming into Mittagong station.

Rounding the curve at Picton Road near Maldon.

Enjoy!
