Updated 01 June 2024
Since sighting my first Breeze Logistics container in May 2014, I have always been on the look out for these containers. They have an imaginative logo and you can tell that company wants to stand out with the little Eskimo boy.
From my sightings, it looks like things started with a couple of containers in early 2014, and expanded with a handful of additional containers in mid 2015. By late 2015 the highest numbered container sighted was 18, and that is still the current situation as of mid 2016.
(The highest number container now sighted is 19, sighted in late 2016).
In 2020, Breeze added an additional 6 (leased) container to their fleet. These were 2010 built 46'6 reefers from SCF with the 810 prefix. Originally delivered with the top and bottom orange stripe and marked for the SCF Rail Containers brand, all 6 were externally repainted all white with the new SCF logo in the top corner and the eskimo logo added. The 810 series of reefers (with curved fuel tank) with SCF total more than 70 units and the Breeze units were not in a specific number block, being provided with 810008, 016, 021, 022, 023, 066. These unit remain in traffic as of June 2024 and are still fitted with older style Carrier refrigeration units.
In May 2024 brand new SCF reefers appeared with the eskimo once again. Sighted so far are SCFU 823216, 219 and 220 which possibly means these will be a block. The orange posts are a stand out feature of newer reefer units.
