PS6

Some photos of PS6 from last week.

It was dissapointing to be clouded out, but I took a record shot of the combo - Stars/IP/Stars.

RLSY 18671 in a grey coat with modified doors.

RLSY 18653 in faded PN with a well weathered roof!

Still looking respectable in indian red, RLSY 18746.

Possibly a recent re-activation - RLUY 18720.

RQCY 831 (or maybe 631). About 40 of these RQCYs remain in service with PN Intermodal.

Now a SCF 48ft container, this container was previously leased or owned by another company. I have no photos to suggest who it may have been so any info would be wonderful.

A new K&S container KTL 40101.

Former FCL 48ft container is now ISHU 480156. The containers on either side are the same but have been painted green.
http://wagonfreak.blogspot.com/2010/07/pine-tree-hill.html On this previous post I said it may have been a Linfox/Boxcar container, but it seems they were FCL boxes.

Cooltainers CTAU 408013. Cooltainers is a NZ company.

CEVA curtainer sided container 3NW932

A BOC container and a load of pipes are locked onto RQKY 2375

PS6 Containers

It's been so long that I can't recall if this was PS6 or PS7. Either way, it was from Perth.

The lead locos were not worth snapping, so we will start at the first wagon:

Inline fuel tanker on wagon RQHY 7055

RLSY 18648 from the original KLY van build.

A very red RLSY 18706 with a single blue panel

Two older Sadleir RCS containers.

Royal Wolf reefer RWFU 000001-7

PNXE 4567 which has a solid end and doors so the container can be unloaded via the side or end.

PNXC 4491 with Bluestar logos

More 24ft container on a RRQY 5-pack. These are 4601 and 4604. I beleive there are only 6 or so in service.

NEWSFLASH - G511

Today G511 emerged from the Bradken Mittagong paint booth in what could be the last ever loco painted at that facility.

Owned by CFCLA, and formerly in SCT colours, G511 has emerged in the SSR livery after a long term contract was signed. It is expected that G511, will join the two SSR owned G class (513 and 514) on coal operations.

Coote Ore Train

Taken a few weeks back, the interesting combo of C/C/442/442 ran on the Coote ore train 2841 from Goulburn to Parkes. The train normally loads at Goonumbla and runs to Port Kembla. Lately the motive power has been a single C class, however this is all about to change!

Having Just departed Goulburn, the train comes through Yarra.

The impressive combo is passing through the Cullerin Ranges.

The last shot of the day fro me was taken as the train rounded Coolalie.

A few wagon shots from the day. The containers are ore concentrate container. They were originally orange with Heggies logos, however as they are refurbished, they are being painted green.

A few other interesting things were sighted during the chase:

A hi-Rail excavator at Coolalie doing track repairs.

A hi-rail ARTC 4WD doing track inspection at Yarra.

NP3 @ Sunset

Managed to get a couple of shots of NP3 in the Cullerins last week in beautiful light.

RKEF 170. This is bthe first time I have seen the divider used. The loadis merchant bar/rod. The light was so nice, the entire unsider of the wagon is lit up including the back of the wheel discs.

Some ButterBoxes on various 40ft flats.

An RKWY showing the underside and brake arrangement.

Moss Vale PW4

On weekends when there is a shutdown between Sydney and Wollongong, Steel train PW4 splits at Moss Vale, with PW4 continuing to Sydney and 2920 forming to run to Port Kembla.

The lead two units detach and prepare to stable next to NR31. The two lead units are planned for 2920 (the rear portion of the train).

NR31 has suffered a radio failure, and as such, ended up pulling the Sydney portion of PW4 into the refuge siding (and was subsequently hauled by an 81 to Sydney).

Original CR red ROKX 2947 (Note it is no longer an open wagon!)

RKWY 4166 with a rather tellow Barber bogie and some new wheels and springs. PN are currently happy not to repaint bogies after overhaul.

RKLY 20457 with a yellow side sill and 2 scrap steel containers

RKHF 2064 loaded with reo bar.

RKEF 13 with reo bar.

Final SA Photos

At last, I have come to the end of my SA photos. Here are a few from the PN Terminal.

Crew Car RZDY 103 (Ibis).

A triple deck RMDY car carrier.

Former Mobil PTMY 1, now repainted and marked with Sabadin Petroleum. I think Sabadin is a local distributor in Alice Springs.
